When can employees enroll in pet insurance?

There is no Open Enrollment period with Spot Pet Insurance, you can sign up for and drop Spot Pet Insurance at any time. Your pet must be at least 8 weeks old in order to enroll in a pet insurance plan from Spot.

Does this benefit require annual re-enrollment by employees?

Employees do not need to re-enroll each year to maintain this benefit. They will receive a notification 60 days prior to the policy renewal date regarding any policy alterations. If the employee does not cancel, their pet's coverage will automatically continue with the policy renewal.

What are the different enrollment options?

As an employer, you can offer Spot Pet Insurance as a voluntary benefit both through direct bill and payroll deduction. Through direct bill, the setup is fast, and the employee signs up for the policy and pays for it out of pocket. This means they can customize their plan. Via payroll deduction, employers can choose from a tiered plan and the employer will set the benefit limits for all employees. This means employees will not have the opportunity to customize their own plans and there will be a set rate for each tier.

Are there any setup or admin costs related to offering this benefit?

There are no costs to the employer associated with offering Spot Pet Insurance to your employees. You will get a dedicated Spot account representative that will set up a co-branded landing page where your employees can enroll, provide co-branded marketing collateral, and set up webinars for your employees to learn more.

What marketing materials are available to inform the employees about this benefit?

We provide a variety of marketing materials, including co-branded flyers, decks, and videos, to help engage with our groups. Additionally, we enjoy interacting with our clients through activities such as webinars, sweepstakes, and swag box giveaways.

Is the discount portable?

The discount offered to your employees through our Voluntary Benefits program is portable and will remain available if they choose to continue with Spot, even after leaving their current job. This benefit is conveniently offered through direct bill, making it easy for employees to maintain their policies in the event of job transitions.

Is there a minimum participation requirement?

With Spot, there is no minimum participation requirement, and we work with employer groups of all sizes.

What is Pet Insurance?

Pet insurance is a type of coverage that helps offset the cost of veterinary care for your pet. It can help in covering vet expenses related to accidents, illnesses, and preventive care. By having pet insurance, you can protect your pet's health and potentially avoid significant financial burdens in case of unexpected medical needs.

What do Pet Insurance Plans provided by Spot cover?

Spot Pet Insurance offers options for Accident-Only and Accident & Illness pet insurance plans. Spot plans offer an unlimited annual limit option, no per incident caps, and no lifetime caps.

Plans provided by Spot cover the eligible expenses for medically necessary veterinary treatments that are prescribed to treat your pet’s covered conditions.

You may use any licensed veterinarian in the US and Canada.
