The claim process was easy and quick. After focusing on caring for our cat after his tail surgery, we filed our claim. Received immediate confirmation the claim was being processed and in less than 2 weeks, received the funds deposited directly into our account. Many Thanks.

Spot Pet Insurance has been incredible!

I love how simple it is to submit claims and even receive direct deposit for reimbursement. The only con I can think of is whish they paid more or offered prescription coverage on maintenance medication. That being said, they have helped cover so many vaccinations and microchip. We had an emergency vet visit and they covered 70% and saved us from taking mounting debt to pay for it. I even received the reimbursement in less than a week.

Lauralea Pittman

My lil guy recently had to have emergency surgery to remove a foreign body, very expensive, over $6k in total. I called Spot to verify everything they would need to process the claim. They were very empathetic about my situation and provided clear instructions as to everything they would need. The process to submit the claim was very easy and straightforward- my claim was approved and processed with the money deposited in less than a week. I would give 6 stars if I could, highly, HIGHLY recommend!!

Do Dogs Need Insurance?

While pet insurance is not mandatory, enrolling your pet in a Spot plan can offer valuable peace of mind by reimbursing 90% of eligible vet bills. This can help pet parents manage unexpected veterinary expenses and help ensure that their pets can receive the care they need with less financial strain. Note that pet insurance does not cover pre-existing conditions.

What Types of Pet Insurance Plans Does Spot Offer?

Spot offers accident-only and accident and illness base plans, as well as two optional preventative care add-ons.

Our preventative care add-ons can help cover the eligible costs of routine veterinary services including vaccines, dental cleanings, flea and heartworm preventatives, and more!

Why Do Pet Insurance Premiums Go Up?

Yes, sometimes pet insurance premiums can go up. These necessary increases provide you the opportunity to help get your pet the best medical treatment options available for eligible conditions. The premium increase is necessary to help keep up with the rising costs of veterinary care and inflation.

Additionally, your premium will be affected by your pet's age, as the risk for more costly claims grows higher. Spot strives to offer plans with coverage that continue well into your pet's old age by not placing upper-age limitations on coverage or enrollments.

Your premium will not increase due to filing a claim.

Does Dog Insurance Cover Neutering?

With the purchase of a Platinum preventative care add-on, your Spot plan can help cover the eligible costs of neutering. Learn more about dog neutering coverage here.

Spaying coverage is available under our Platinum preventative care add-on. This package can be added to your accident-only or accident and illness base plan, and can help cover the eligible costs of routine vet services like; vaccinations, dental cleanings, spaying, and more!
