We at Spot pet insurance thrive on customer satisfaction. We believe that the best insurance for you is the one that lets you sleep at peace at night, knowing that your pet is insured and covered.
You would come across several providers that offer pet insurance plans. You’ll find a lot of similarities as well. But between them, there will be a lot of differences as well. Why wouldn’t there be? They wouldn’t have started the company if they wanted to be the same. The goal for you here should be to identify the one that considers your needs and fulfills them. And our goal is to help you find that. (You almost did when you came on this page, anyways).
Our mission is to make it as easy and transparent as possible for you, as a responsible and loving pet parent, to go through the insurance claim process because we know that the sickness of your pet is already making you feel low and sad.

Spot Pet Insurance Plans vs ManyPets Plans
This article compares ManyPets plans to Spot Pet Insurance plans. And here are some factors on how they differ –
Coverage in all 50 States
Spot Pet Insurance is available to pet parents in all 50 states. Many Pets does not offer coverage in all 50 states, so you will need to check if they offer coverage in your state.
Prescription Diets & Dietary Supplements
We are what we eat and it’s the same for pets as well, especially if they are recovering from an illness. Prescription diets are special diets that your pet might need to recover quickly and gain immunity. At Spot, the plans we offer cover diets when prescribed by a vet for treating a covered condition. Foods and supplements prescribed for general health or weight maintenance are not covered. But with ManyPets plans, prescription foods are not covered, only supplements are.
Microchip Implantation
Each year, a lot of pets are lost in the United States and end up in the nation's animal shelters. The unfortunate fact is that they aren’t all microchipped and some won’t find their way back home. We understand the bond between you and the pet and hence place importance on microchipping. Plans at Spot include coverage of microchip implantation in all core plans. ManyPets plans don’t.
Preventive Care Requirements
Spot plans don’t have preventive care requirements to cover some illnesses, which some other plans like ManyPets plans do.
No Upper Age Limit
Spot plans have no upper age limit for new enrollments. ManyPets plans however, do have upper age limits for new enrollments. .
Accident-Only Plan
We provide variety in our offerings so you can customize your pet’s insurance according to your need and lifestyle. If you don’t feel like getting your pet insured for sicknesses but only for injuries and accidents then we’ve got an option for you as well. ManyPets doesn’t offer an accident-only plan.
Behavioral Issues
Aggression, separation anxiety, noise phobia, cat-to-cat aggression, etc. are some examples of behavioral issues that your pet might face. Spot accident & illness plans cover the eligible treatment for behavioral problems. ManyPets plans don’t.
Multiple Pet Discount
Spot offers a 10% multi-pet discount on every additional pet. We know how difficult it can get to maintain pets at times. This is a little kind gesture from our end. Manypets does not offer a multiple pet discount.
The above pointers are where both providers’ plan options differ. There are some common offerings as well that you as a parent can avail with both providers’ plan options. These include –
Alternative Therapies – Both providers’ plans cover alternative therapies that are prescribed to treat covered conditions. Acupuncture, physiotherapy, chiropractic care, rehabilitative therapy, hydrotherapy, and low-level laser therapy are common and effective amongst pets as well. We would love it if your pet can be treated without medications.
30-day money-back guarantee –We at Spot offer you a 30-day money-back guarantee, in case you don’t feel it is the right plan for you (which we don’t let happen easily). The 30-day money back guarantee is not available if a covered claim has been filed, and it’s not available in New York.
Preventive Care Option – Prevention is the best cure. Spot offers add-on preventive care coverage options for an extra cost. Some coverage benefits included in the options include certain vaccines, dental cleaning, deworming, and certain blood tests.
Exam Fees – Exam fees for covered conditions are covered by plans offered by both providers.
Hereditary and congenital conditions – Pets, especially dogs can inherit some diseases from their parents. Accident & illness plans offered by both providers cover the costs of eligible treatments for such diseases.
Dental Illnesses – Our canine pets are infamous for having several dental illnesses in their lifetime. And they can be costly as well. Spot accident & illness plans cover dental illnesses and tooth extractions for dental accidents.
Chronic Conditions – Conditions illnesses like diabetes, cancer, etc. which need prolonged care are covered by accident & illness plans offered by both Spot and ManyPets.
Specialists – Your pet might need a licensed specialist vet visit at a time of a complicated surgery or an emergency for a covered condition. The vet bills here can be higher than normal. But our plans would cover the costs for the same.
Above, we have mentioned some of the benefits that Spot Pet Insurance plan options would cover. The premiums may be affected by the age of the pet, the pet breed, the pet location, and the plan you choose. So, we now leave the decision to you to choose the best pet insurance for your pet. We trust you in the fact that you would not want to compromise on anything when it comes to your lovely pet.
