Microchip implantation coverage is included with base plans offered by Spot Pet Insurance. Plans provided by MetLife only include coverage for microchipping as an optional add-on for an extra cost.
Base Spot Plans Include Coverage for Rx Foods Prescribed to Treat Covered Conditions
Base plans provided by Spot Pet Insurance include coverage for Rx foods and supplements when prescribed by a licensed vet to treat covered conditions (excluding general maintenance or weight management).
MetLife does offer coverage for Rx food, but only through add-ons for an extra cost.
Base Spot Plans Cover Behavioral Conditions
Spot's base plans include coverage for behavioral conditions.

I normally don't leave reviews, but I very much felt the need to do so. I switched my pets from Banfield to Spot after MONTHS of research. I mean literally 6 months of research of who had the best coverage, who had the best price, etc. I decided to go with Spot because they offered the most coverage for such a great price. The reason I wanted to write a review was because I recently lost one of my dogs and as I was waiting for Spot to approve everything, I get an email from them saying how sorry they were about the loss of my baby boy Roscoe. I also noticed that they said because of the time-frame of which he had passed (it lapsed into a new month), they weren't going to charge me for that new month and they were going to cancel it for me but if I had any other paperwork to submit that I could do so. It was truly so effortless and a weight off my shoulders not having to deal with all that with the sudden loss of Roscoe. My experience with Banfield was quite the opposite when I lost my dog Benji, it was like fighting tooth and nail with them. Spot made it so easy, I was able to grieve over the loss of my baby without having to deal with the phone calls, the holds and lets be honest, the bs that comes with trying to cancel insurances. They even called me a week later to check in to see how me and Roscoe's littermate Hodor were doing. I really cannot recommend Spot enough!

Best Experience Upon the Death of Our Cat
I bought pet insurance months ago not knowing what to expect. Our cat unexpectedly passed away due to an undiagnosed condition. Prior to this we had no claims submitted. I wasn't expecting much from the insurance but the submission was very easy for his end of life expenses. And their response to our cat's death was so very kind. They called me, sent a message via email, and we received a wonderful card. They proactivley cancelled the insurance which saved us time and future unnecessary charges. I have done two claims through Spot in…
I have done two claims through Spot in last 5 years, both over$1500 and other than my deductible they paid to the dime the amount I expected. Claim processed in a week and the first one was received in the 5-10 days by mail as they said and the second claim check I should get this week. Other than my own shortfalls of uploading the documentation the process was seamless. I was unable to find my Credit Union on their site so had to do mail. I spoke to them by phone in which staff answered quickly, gave me additional options on submitting the claim. Also the staff was very sympathetic about my dog. ❤️

My overall experience with Spot Pet Insurance is amazing!! I’m using this adjective to describe them because on the wonderful service (s) the provider for my little furry family member. Some insurance companies will let you go on paying for services you don’t need any longer. When it was time for my renewal the rep really help me in my decision. When you file a claim they are very prompt in paying with no hassles. I’m so happy I selected this company, I’m very happy with them!!!!
