How do Pawp Memberships function?
Pawp memberships are essentially emergency funds for pets. After you sign up, there’s a 14-day waiting period. After the waiting period is over, you have a $3,000 fund that you can use for emergency treatment.
To use the fund, one of their specialists (whom you can call using a 24/7 telehealth service) has to give your dog or cat a virtual exam to determine if there is a real emergency. The specialist will need to confirm that there is an emergency in order for the membership coverage to apply.
Pawp will pay the vet directly for the eligible vet services, so you don’t need to worry about paying unless the emergency exceeds the $3,000 limit.
As part of enrollment for the Pawp membership, you have to pay a monthly fee of $24. If you like having many animal friends around, Pawp memberships will cover up to 6 pets.
Spot Pet Insurance plans can cover multiple emergencies
The Pawp membership emergency fund can only cover one emergency per year. The first emergency covered is the only emergency that can be covered during that year of your membership, even if you don’t use all $3,000.
At Spot Pet Insurance, we know that sometimes your pets can have multiple emergencies a year. It’s a big world out there; some animals have a knack for getting into trouble. Pet insurance plans provided by Spot do not limit coverage to one eligible condition per year.
Some pets also have hereditary or congenital conditions that may need continuous treatment or may take multiple appointments to manage. These expenses would not be covered by a PawP emergency fund.
We also offer a 10 multi-pet percent discount for all additional pets, so you have help saving some money to help improve your four-legged family’s quality of life.
You can add preventative care coverage to Spot plans
We take your pet’s health and happiness very seriously and know that sometimes offense is the best defense. That’s why we offer preventative care coverage add-ons for a little extra cost.
With preventive care coverage added to an accident and illness plan, you can be reimbursed for certain routine wellness treatments that help prevent your pup or kitty from getting sick. Covered services include; annual wellness exams, vaccines, dental cleanings, and other services.
Pawp memberships do not provide coverage options for preventive care treatments. Although, you can use their pet telehealth line to speak to a licensed vet or vet tech.
Spot plans take a holistic approach to health
Although Pawp memberships cover emergency visits, they don't cover any follow-up visits or rehabilitation for the same condition once the initial emergency visit is over. Some emergencies won’t require care after the initial hospital visit. Other times your pet may need physical therapy or another form of rehabilitation to get back to their old self.
At Spot Pet Insurance, we are aware that your pet can need many forms of treatment for accidents and illnesses, from alternative therapies to rehabilitation. Some of the alternative therapies that are prescribed to treat covered conditions that Spot plans can cover include:
Hydrotherapy
Chiropractor visits
Acupuncture
We want to make sure your pet feels great in both mind and body, so pet insurance plans provided by Spot also cover behavioral issues.

It was bound to happen and I am…
It was bound to happen and I am thankful we had Spot Pet Insurance when it did. I had to take my fur kid to the vet for X-rays and an ear infection along with follow up appointments. The claim filing process was pretty simple and the reimbursement came quick with no problems. I see reviews with people saying insurance doesn’t do what it is supposed to, well it does. I got insurance on my fur kid when he was a puppy, there were no previous issues. I think that is where some of the comments may come from. We have the illness and accident and I am thankful I decided to stick with it.

I have had Spot Insurance for nearly two years now. Our little dog Rosie started to limp and whine recently. Our vet referred us to an orthopedic vet. So far Spot Insurance has covered the expenses just as the policy promised!
Very satisfied customer.
I have been a client of Spot Pet Insurance for about four years and the service is remarkable. They are very expedient with resolving a claim, and paying what ever is covered to the client as soon as possible.I know there are many other companies but I would not think of changing. There customer service department is staffed with very friendly and knowledgeable people.

The claim process was simple. I uploaded the invoice and attached the medical record supplied by the vet. In ten days my claim was approved and a check sent in the mail. It really couldn't have been easier.
