Waiting periods begin the day after you purchase your policy and last until your coverage's effective date. Typically, any illness, disease, injury, or change to your pet's health that first occurs or shows symptoms before coverage is effective is considered pre-existing and is not eligible for coverage. Which vets can I use?
With a Spot plan you can take your pet to any vet in the U.S. or Canada, including specialists and emergency clinics. You can also add-on Platinum preventive for coverage on eligible spaying or neutering costs

Coverage for our optional preventive care add-ons begins just 24 hours after purchase, allowing you to use your preventive benefits almost immediately. These add-ons help cover routine check-ups, dental cleanings, and vaccinations, helping your pet get essential care. Submitting claims is easy
Once you visit your vet, submit a claim via our app or through the member center. Make sure you include any necessary documentation. Most claims are processed in less than 3 days, and reimbursements will be paid either via direct deposit or a check, whichever you prefer. Our helpful customer service representatives are available to answer any questions you may have.

My doggie injured his back right leg. I took him to his vet who recommended an exam, x-rays and meds. after all was said and done I received the bill. We really made the right decision in purchasing Spot pet insurance. This coming January Sadie will be 2 years old. We have had Spot insurance since May of 2024 paying $48 a month. 17 months at $48 paid $816 during this time Sadie had racked up $1,000’s in wellness and medical costs. Spot covered and reimbursed us 80% after a small yearly deductible. The very best decision we ever made purchasing Spot pet insurance. I was concerned when Sadie’s policy was renewed she would either be refused continuance of insurance or it would increase dramatically due to the claims we had especially the first year. Much to our surprise insurance continued and at the same premium! Spot insurance makes it very easy to submit a claim and the reimbursement in our opinion is reasonably quick with direct deposit. Spot insurance couldn’t make it any easier. I would highly recommend Spot insurance. Representatives are helpful and easy to work with.
