MIAMI, FL – July 15, 2025 – Spot Pet Insurance has announced the launch of its “Lost Pet Campaign,” a national initiative to support families searching for their beloved pets while raising awareness about the lifesaving importance of microchipping. As part of this campaign, Spot is pledging $1,000 to the reward fund of five families with lost pets to help amplify their search efforts and bring their furry companions home.
The first pet featured in the campaign is Mimo, a beloved dog who went missing from Fort Worth, TX (76137). Mimo’s owner, Kiara Haddock, shared that he slipped out during a storm last month and hasn’t been seen since. Spot Pet Insurance is stepping in to increase visibility around Mimo’s disappearance, offering a $1,000 reward to encourage local residents to join the search.

“Losing a pet is one of the most heartbreaking experiences a family can endure,” said Trey Ferro, CEO of Spot Pet Insurance. “Our mission is to support pet parents in every stage of their journey, and that includes moments like this. By amplifying these stories and promoting microchipping, we hope to help more lost pets find their way home.”

Nearly 10 million pets go missing every year in the U.S.1, according to the American Humane Association. Microchipping is one of the simplest and most effective ways to help lost pets reunite with their families. Unlike collars and tags that can fall off, a microchip provides a permanent ID that stays with your pet for life.
Spot Pet Insurance makes microchipping more accessible by covering the procedure under all base plans—Accident-Only and Accident & Illness. This means pet parents can protect their furry loved ones without worrying about the cost.
Why Microchipping Matters
Microchipped dogs are returned to their owners 52% of the time, compared to 22% for non-microchipped dogs.
Microchipped cats have a 40% return rate, compared to just 2% for cats without microchips
Microchipping is quick, safe, and affordable—often costing between $25–$60—and Spot Pet Insurance helps cover it.

The “Lost Pet Campaign” will continue spotlighting additional missing pets in the coming weeks as Spot seeks out more families to support with $1,000 reward contributions.
